Warrant   Gives the purchaser the option of buying common stock in the future, at a specified price (usually issued higher than the current market price), however, unlike stock rights, warrants do not expire for a number of years sometimes even indefinitely.
Wash Sale Rule   An IRS regulation stipulating that deductions for capital losses from investments are NOT allowed if the taxpayer purchases "substantially the same security" within 61 days.
Wrap Fee   The fee charged for administration of services under a wrap program.
Wrap Program   A program of financial management for clients whereby such client is charge a specified fee NOT based directly upon transaction in a client's account, and NOT specifically for advisory services, and NOT specifically for execution of transaction, but rather for the multiple services together.
Writer (re: options) Seller The party in an options contract who is paid for the risk of having an option exercised by granting such right to a buyer.
